A perfect day for a little father son time AND to get out with my new Nikon D800. What started out to be just a quick drive up the road to take a few shots of the mountains, turned out to be an all day adventure. We started out at the base of the mountain photographing the beautiful Boulder Flat Irons and the big fluffy clouds. I was even lucky enough to find some flowers for the foreground (not easy this time of the year).
So our “quick drive up the road” turned out to be a three hour hike straight up the mountain, lugging about 100 pounds of camera gear and a small bottle of water. Way to be prepared, eh? We did get some pretty cool pics though, like this 5 shot panorama looking down at Boulder.

He walked around all day with that camera pressed to his face. That said, he seems to be quite selective of the pictures that he takes.
Her are a few shot that my 8 year old made. Maybe HE’LL be the next Ansel Adams.
